ABOUT PLAY TO LEARN
Visionaries are often inspired by something in their environment that unlocks their brilliance. Walt Disney was watching children play in a park. Isaac Newton was reading under an apple tree. Steve Jobs was mesmerized by the architecture of his childhood neighborhood.
The Cushman School has always aspired to be that special place that unlocks students’ greatest potential. We want to continue to foster an environment that inspires incredible things to happen, ideas to come to fruition and one’s passion to be fully realized! We need your help in completing a high-performance, indoor facility that will provide additional opportunities for our children and friends in the community to explore, express and PLAY!
Since 1924, The Cushman School has always incorporated performing arts and athletics into our curriculum. From the beginning, our children have illuminated the campus with singing, dancing, playing instruments and oratory presentations. Learning through play has numerous benefits, both physical and mental. Our new Performing Arts & Athletic Center will provide an enhanced platform to help our children showcase their talents. This indoor venue will allow our students to fully realize their potential and express their artistic abilities from a professional stage.
This new performance center will also keep our sports-enthusiasts active, competitive and at the top of their game! While many other schools are eliminating physical education entirely, The Cushman School’s curriculum prioritizes daily fitness and movement as well as participation in team sports. With this facility, new athletic opportunities can be offered in all weather conditions for our students, their families and the community.
